Folders Overview

Folders allow you to organize Screens, Files&Docs and Data Sources into sets or packages for specific purposes, departments, or job roles.

Hover over the folder name, and the settings gear icon for that folder will show on the right side. Click the folder gear icon to access that folder’s settings, allowing you to optionally restrict access to a Folder’s contents. This will enable you to make sets of Screens and Docs available to different groups of app users in the field.

With Folders, you can cleanly organize your content to ensure your workers have access to everything they need for their specific job.

You can assign and remove Folders from app users and/or user groups whenever you like.

Our platform automatically ensures that the contents of your Folders (Screens, Docs, Data Sources) are correctly downloaded or removed from app users in the field based on which Folders they are permitted to access.

Although there’s no limit to the number of folders you can create within an account, when assigning folder access permissions, a user can only be assigned to a maximum of 90 folders.

For example, let’s say you have a group of inspectors in the field.

These inspectors need a mix of specific Docs and Screens to do their job, and you have set up the users to belong to the “Inspectors” user group in the system.

You could create an Inspection Folder to contain only the relevant Screens, Docs, and Data Sources they need, and tick the “Restrict User Access” option when setting up the Folder to specify that only the Inspectors user group can access this Folder.

Folders are found on the Screens, Docs, and Data Source listing pages. (along the right-hand side of the page)
